Circuit of The Americas (COTA) announced today that, in addition to headlining concerts by international superstars Justin Timberlake (Oct 21) and Stevie Wonder (Oct 22), the American Sound Track fueled by Exxon and Mobil stations, will showcase more than 30 Texas acts, spanning musical genres from country to hip hop, and soul to indie folk. These newly added performances are set to take place on multiple stages throughout COTA grounds during Austin’s Formula 1 USGP weekend. The showcase serves as a snapshot of the richly diverse musical talent from around the Lone Star State and speaks to Austin’s commitment to its status as the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

“There is no better way to continue celebrating after a race than with live music in Austin,” said Kai Decker, global sponsorship manager for ExxonMobil. “We are excited to sponsor the American Soundtrack with COTA at our home track in Austin. In this city, racing and live music go hand in hand. It’s a fun way for us to engage fans and promote our partnership with Red Bull Racing.”

Featured performers include the Austin-based and North Texas-bred roots rock collective The Texas Gentlemen, recently touted by Rolling Stone as “the greatest honky-tonk band you’ve never heard of.” The Gents have shared stages with Leon Bridges, Kris Kristofferson, Nikki Lane, and Shakey Graves, and are sure to rev things up with tunes from their recent full-length debut, TX Jelly, recorded at Muscle Shoals’ FAME Studios. American singer and guitarist Israel Nash joins the weekend, playing music from his critically acclaimed Rain Plains, which Rolling Stones Germany named “one of the most phenomenal Americana records of 2014.” Indie hip hop ZEALE + Blastfamous USA will keep the party going, and much lauded psych rock & soul band Los Coast, country’s Jonathan Terrell, and blues soul/funk duo The Peterson Brothers are not-to-miss acts during the weekend.
